I was recently asked by the lovely people at Pound Arts in Corsham to edit together some videos for their Blue Sky and Beyond Festival, which this year went digital on 8-14th June.
Over 40 videos were received from lots of amazing musicians and spoken word artists! Mostly filmed and recorded by the artists in their homes, I was really impressed by the quality of the videos and while the project involved many hours of editing, it was a pleasure to be able to watch all the videos and discover some new artists along the way. My personal favourites are Jonny Fluffypunk, Toby Thompson, Mishra and Tiny Ruins.
The videos were scheduled to ‘Premiere’ on the Pound Arts YouTube channel at set times over the weekend 13-14th June. This is a feature which allows viewers to watch and experience a new video together and creates a buzz around a video with a shareable watch page.
I think the Pound Arts team have done an incredible job with organising this year’s festival. They’ve adapted to these unusual times by putting out a digital version of their festival, when many other festivals have not been able to offer an alternative. Blue Sky and Beyond has brought these amazing artists into people’s homes, connecting the community with the arts, which is especially important in these strange and difficult times.
All of these videos are still available to enjoy on YouTube, please consider donating to the Blue Sky and Beyond fund and make sure to subscribe to the Pound Arts channel to catch future videos!
